Using APIs and Postman to Automate Technical Services Tasks

APIs are a powerful tool for creating new workflows and automating repetitive tasks in technical services. For librarians who are not programmers, using an API is not a straightforward project. This presentation will describe how Postman, an API platform with a user-friendly interface, can be used to interact with API requests, and will walk attendees through how to set up to send multiple, chained requests and how to use a CSV file to perform bulk processing. Examples will include working with electronic inventory and ExLibris’ Alma APIs.
