Core Diversity & Inclusion Committee Committee Membership Survey Results and Analysis

Throughout June-September 2022, The Core DEI Committee conducted a survey to learn about the perceptions and aspirations of Core membership towards the Division’s priorities for advancing our agenda with respect to accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusion (ADEI). This presentation will review and analyze the results of the Core DEI Committee’s membership survey.

    She/Her
    Amber Billey is the Systems and Metadata Librarian at Bard College. She is Chair of the Leadership Team for the Core Metadata & Collection Section, is past Co-Chair of the Core Diversity and Inclusion Committee, serves on the Advisory Board for the Digital Transgender Archive, and the editorial board for the Homosaurus – a linked data thesaurus for the LGBTQ+ community. When she isn’t thinking about metadata and the future of libraries, Billey enjoys hiking in mountains, swimming in oceans, and sitting on meditation cushions.

    Carrye Kay Syma
    Assistant Dean and Librarian, Texas Tech University

    She/Her
    Carrye Syma has been with the Texas Tech University Libraries since 2005. She was hired as an Assistant Librarian in 2005, receiving tenure and promotion to Associate Librarian in 2011. In 2021 she was promoted to Full Librarian. Her research interests include hidden disabilities in the workplace and graphic novels and comics in education.
